Racing Incident Report

BALAY BALAY and WINNAM were shifted across behind runners soon after the start to obtain cover.
After the 1300 Metres, LUCKY SEVEN STARS was left racing wide and without cover and then approaching the first turn was allowed to stride forward to race in a more prominent position nearer to the rail.
C Schofield, the rider of the 5th placegetter, HOLMES LEGEND, was questioned regarding his riding of the horse over the concluding stages. C Schofield stated that HOLMES LEGEND was racing truly under pressure in the Straight, however, when MARVEL HERO advanced past his mount approaching the 50 Metres, that horse shifted in towards HOLMES LEGEND which, as a consequence, got its head on the side and was inclined to lay in. He said as he was aware there were runners positioned to his inside, he tested the horse as best as he was able whilst endeavouring to prevent causing any tightening to those runners. C Schofield's evidence was accepted.
A veterinary inspection of WINNAM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
CHEERFUL BOY and CALIFORNIA JOY were sent for sampling.
