2 4 STELLAR EXPRESS (J186) When questioned, Z Purton stated that near the 300 Metres his mount blundered. He said after being positioned behind and to the outside of BABY CRYSTAL near the 200 Metres, he elected to shift to that runner’s inside to ensure that his mount obtained clear running. He added his decision to shift in was influenced by the fact that he was concerned had he improved to the outside of BABY CRYSTAL, he may have been held up for clear running behind CHEVAL VALIANT which had set a strong pace in the lead and may have given ground. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 10 CHEVAL VALIANT (E336) Jumped awkwardly and shifted in abruptly.
4 5 NORTHERN BEACHES (H266) Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
5 1 PLEASANT ENDEAVOR (E114) No report.
6 2 FLYING HIGH (E204) No report.
7 8 JOLLY RULER (E346) On jumping was steadied when crowded between SUPERSONIC which shifted out after being bumped by NORTHERN BEACHES and CHEVAL VALIANT which shifted in abruptly when being corrected by its rider. Near the 200 Metres was disappointed for clear running between FLYING HIGH and SUPERSONIC and then shifted to the inside of FLYING HIGH to obtain a clear run.

9 7 BULB EMPEROR (J241) Slow to begin.
10 6 TELECOM POWER (J332) Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
