4 5 PEGAS (L075) C L Chau reported that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages. Trainer Y S Tsui confirmed the instructions issued.
5 9 KING LOTUS (K186) Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
6 7 STORMING DRAGON (J237) Leaving the 300 Metres was eased to avoid DANICA’S CHOICE which shifted in to secure clear running. Over the concluding stages could not be fully ridden out when improving close to LEADING AGILITY.
7 10 MEOWTH (J487) From the 400 Metres was hampered when taken wider by LEADING AGILITY. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
8 12 OUTGATE (H113) Despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position.
9 2 STRAIGHT TO GLORY (K340) Leaving the 1000 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied to avoid THRIVING BROTHERS. STRAIGHT TO GLORY continued to race keenly in the middle stages. Approaching the 250 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between THRIVING BROTHERS and STORMING DRAGON. As a result STRAIGHT TO GLORY was shifted to the inside of STORMING DRAGON to obtain clear running.
10 3 SKY CAP (K125) C Y Ho stated that in the early stages he was obliged to make use of his mount to obtain a position to the outside of HARMONY N BLESSED and as a result SKY CAP was unable to finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 4 STAR RISE (K516) Making the turn near the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid HARMONY N BLESSED (L Ferraris) which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. L Ferraris was advised to exercise more care. J Orman stated that the instructions were to hold an on-pace position from barrier 1. He said STAR RISE, which was having its first race start at Happy Valley, did not appreciate racing on the tight circuit. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 1 HARMONY N BLESSED (E061) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
