Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
8 SERANGOON (H296) Jumped only fairly. Sent for sampling post-race.
1 AUDACIOUS PURSUIT (K398) Raced keenly in the middle stages. Near the 900 Metres AUDACIOUS PURSUIT, which continued to race keenly, was steadied to avoid FOREVER GLORIOUS, resulting in AUDACIOUS PURSUIT shifting out and making heavy contact with SHARPEN BRIGHT. When B Avdulla, rider of SHARPEN BRIGHT, then rode to hold his position, AUDACIOUS PURSUIT and SHARPEN BRIGHT made contact for some distance thereafter when they contested the position to the outside of FOREVER GLORIOUS. After considering the incident the Stewards were satisfied that Apprentice E C W Wong had not intentionally attempted to shift to the outside of FOREVER GLORIOUS and the contact was due to the racing manners of AUDACIOUS PURSUIT. Near the 500 Metres shifted out and made contact with CHARITY TOGETHER. Sent for sampling post-race.
5 RELIABLE DAD (L006) Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Leaving the 150 Metres was steadied and shifted to the inside of AUDACIOUS PURSUIT when disappointed for clear running between CHARITY TOGETHER and AUDACIOUS PURSUIT.
3 CHARITY TOGETHER (K254) Near the 500 Meters was contacted by AUDACIOUS PURSUIT (Apprentice E C W Wong) when that horse shifted to the outside of SHARPEN BRIGHT to improve. CHARITY TOGETHER was further hampered when taken wider approaching the 500 Metres when AUDACIOUS PURSUIT continued to shift out. Apprentice Wong was reprimanded.
14 VIVA TASTE (K415) No report.
13 ACE (K307) Shifted out on jumping and was bumped.
7 YIU CHEUNG VICTORY (J529) Approaching the 350 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between SERANGOON and FOREVER GLORIOUS. YIU CHEUNG VICTORY then had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching the 300 Metres when being shifted to the outside of FOREVER GLORIOUS. A Badel stated that his instructions were to settle the horse where comfortable. He said after being hampered on jumping when ACE shifted out his mount settled further back in the field than what he had anticipated. Trainer C H Yip confirmed the instructions issued and said that as the horse raced keenly at its last start with visors on he removed visors from the horse’s gear and had instructed Jockey Badel not to make use of the horse in the early stages so that it would settle better.
12 DILBAGH (K055) No report.
4 GOOD GOOD (J224) H Bowman stated that his mount was pressured in the lead and was unable to finish the race off. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 MEGA FORCE (K200) No report.
9 SPECIAL HEDGE (H354) L Hewitson stated that his mount jumped well from the outside barrier and as a result settled in a more forward position than intended. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
10 FOREVER GLORIOUS (G229) C Y Ho reported that his mount did not appreciate the "Good to Firm” track conditions. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
2 SHARPEN BRIGHT (H276) Between the 950 Metres and the 850 Metres made contact with AUDACIOUS PURSUIT on a number of occasions as SHARPEN BRIGHT was ridden to hold its position to prevent AUDACIOUS PURSUIT from shifting out. When giving ground near the 400 Metres was eased when crowded between AUDACIOUS PURSUIT and FOREVER GLORIOUS which shifted out. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
6 SUPER GOLDENDRAGON (K458) Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. K C Leung reported that his mount hung in, particularly in the Home Straight and, in his opinion, did not appreciate the "Good to Firm” track conditions. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea.
