3 8 POPE CODY (K313) J Orman stated that from a favourable barrier he was asked to hold a handy position.
4 4 SERAPH GABRIEL (L108) Sent for sampling post-race.
5 14 LEGENDARY YEARS (K286) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
6 9 THE BOOM BOX (K076) C Y Ho replaced E Brown as the rider of THE BOOM BOX. Jockey Brown was fined the sum of $2,000 for being unable to make the weight on THE BOOM BOX. In assessing penalty the Stewards took into account his good record and the fact that he notified the Stewards prior to the commencement of betting.
7 6 FALLON (H219) Bumped shortly after the start.
8 11 THE GOLDEN KNIGHT (K341) Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the 350 Metres was briefly held up for clear running when being shifted to the outside of AERODYNAMICS. C Williams reported that his mount was making a respiratory noise after the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 7 ENTHUSIUM (L107) A Atzeni stated that his mount was advantaged by the "Soft” track conditions over 2000 Metres at its most recent start. He said today ENTHUSIUM on the "Good to Firm” track conditions finished the race off only fairly, particularly being back in distance for today’s event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 1 JOY OF SPRING (H383) Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that the instructions were to hold a midfield position. She said JOY OF SPRING was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 5 SWORD POINT (G448) No report.
12 10 CALL ME MAGNIFIQUE (L339) Shortly after the start was steadied when racing tight to the inside of SERAPH GABRIEL which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. Y L Chung stated that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.
13 3 LO RIDER (K161) Jumped only fairly. J Moreira stated that the horse raced too keenly throughout the event and as a result did not run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of LO RIDER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, LO RIDER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
14 2 AERODYNAMICS (K564) Shortly after the start became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by FALLON. Z Purton stated that when under pressure in the Home Straight his mount did not respond and when he was concerned there was something amiss with it near the 300 Metres he eased it down from the event. Trainer M Newnham stated that the horse had pleased him leading into the race and was at a loss to explain today’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of AERODYNAMICS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, AERODYNAMICS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
