Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
1 HAPPY UNIVERSE (J533) Raced wide and without cover from the 1000 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.
8 HERO RISING (L294) Sent for sampling post-race.
10 JOLTIN (L186) Shortly after the start was bumped by PERFECT TEAM.
13 FAMILY KNIGHT (K490) No report.
9 PERFECT TEAM (H120) Shortly after the start was crowded between JOLTIN and EXCELLENCE VALUE which shifted out and away from NIGHT PUROSANGUE.
3 HAPPY TERCENTENARY (L185) Near the 1300 Metres was hampered and taken wider by CALIFORNIA STAR.
6 CHILL KAKA (J486) From the 400 Metres until the 300 Metres was held up before shifting to the outside of JOLTIN to secure clear running. R Kingscote reported that he was issued with no specific instructions as to where to position his mount. He said from his wide barrier he observed several runners to his inside attempting to maintain their positions and rather than risk continuing to be caught wide he elected to restrain his mount near the 1300 Metres where he obtained a position with cover at the rear of the field. Trainer P F Yiu confirmed the instructions issued.
5 NIGHT PUROSANGUE (J510) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, NIGHT PUROSANGUE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.
14 MASSIVE GLORY (K205) Apprentice P N Wong stated that she was instructed to endeavour to obtain a midfield position with cover if possible. She said from her wide barrier she endeavoured to comply with her instructions, however, when unable to obtain cover she was then left racing wide and without cover for the remainder of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
2 ANOTHER WORLD (K005) When questioned C Y Ho stated that from the outside barrier he was instructed to ride ANOTHER WORLD conservatively. He said in the early stages he was able to shift his mount in behind runners and settle at the rear of the field. When questioned regarding his riding on the Home Turn and the early part of the Home Straight and if there was an opportunity to shift to the outside sooner than what he did, Jockey Ho stated that when he observed LUCKY BID shift out his intention was to improve between LUCKY BID and KYOTO SPRING, however, when LUCKY BID then shifted back in, ANOTHER WORLD was then disappointed for this run. He added he became held up for some distance thereafter before shifting to the outside of LUCKY BID near the 250 Metres where he was able to secure clear running. Trainer C H Yip confirmed the instructions were to ride the horse in a conservative manner to offset the outside barrier. He added that he also asked Jockey Ho to endeavour to look for inside runs in the Home Straight to save ground.
11 KYOTO SPRING (L190) Jumped awkwardly. Making the turn near the 700 Metres lay out and made contact with CALIFORNIA STAR.
7 CALIFORNIA STAR (J123) Jumped only fairly. Making the first turn near the 1500 Metres was steadied and shifted out to avoid JOLTIN. CALIFORNIA STAR then raced keenly and near the 1300 Metres was steadied to avoid JOLTIN. Near the 700 Metres was steadied away from JOLTIN when taken out by KYOTO SPRING. Y L Chung stated that his mount raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages and as a consequence was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
4 EXCELLENCE VALUE (K093) Shortly after the start shifted out and away from NIGHT PUROSANGUE and made contact with PERFECT TEAM.
12 LUCKY BID (L274) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
