Racing Incident Report

The Veterinary Surgeon said whilst PERFECT VISION was being saddled up, he noted the horse had blood in the near side nostril. He said on examination this was from an old wound on the inside of the nostril and in his opinion PERFECT VISION was suitable to race. EASTERN TYCOON missed the start slightly, was further inconvenienced by PERFECT VISION which on leaving the gates shifted out abruptly. HONOUR GRADE was slowly away. Near the 800 Metres, HONOUR GRADE, which was improving, got its head up when close to the heels of SPECTACULAR TALK. About the 400 Metres, PERFECT VISION, which was shifting out, became unbalanced on the outside of BEIJING DOLLAR and shifted more ground than anticipated. This caused some inconvenience to FAITHFUL ASSURANCE which shifted out, causing SPLENDID BO BO which was improving wide to be inconvenienced and carried wider. The trouble to SPLENDID BO BO was extenuated as the horse was at this time hanging in. Then in the Straight, SPLENDID BO BO continued to hang in, proved difficult to ride out and on several occasions S Dye stopped riding and straightened. Just after straightening, BELOVED PARTNER, which was endeavouring to shift out, bumped with PERFECT VISION. D Whyte (MILLENNIUM DAWN) said he was concerned with the action of the horse. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said MILLENNIUM DAWN was lame in its near side front leg. Before being allowed to race again, MILLENNIUM DAWN will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. SPLENDID BO BO was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
