Racing Incident Report

BEAR DOMINANCE was slow to begin. Making the first turn, HAPPY CONTENDER was awkwardly placed inside SEASONS KNACK which got its head on the side and shifted in away from BEAR DOMINANCE. Making the turn at the 1800 Metres, SEASONS KNACK got its head up when awkwardly placed inside the heels of LAZY BUDDIES. Entering the Straight on the first occasion, BEAR DOMINANCE, which was racing tight outside SEASONS KNACK, was checked away from the heels of RIGHT FRAAR. At the 1300 Metres, SUCCESSIVE GAINS was carried wider by NASA PEARL which shifted out when being steadied away from the heels of HAPPY CONTENDER. Entering the Back Straight, BEAR DOMINANCE shifted to a three wide position and improved its position. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, HAPPY CONTENDER lost ground when crowded for room between NASA PEARL and AMSTERDAM. Prior to straightening, O Doleuze (BEAR DOMINANCE) dropped his whip. Also prior to straightening, LAZY BUDDIES was checked when crowded for room inside SEASONS KNACK which in turn was racing tight inside SUCCESSIVE GAINS whose hindquarters shifted in momentarily. In the circumstances, no action was taken. In the Straight, BEAR DOMINANCE hung in. A Delpech (RIGHT FRAAR) explained near the 800 Metres the horse became disunited in its action and lost ground sharply. He said shortly after this RIGHT FRAAR appeared normal in its action, he therefore rode his mount along for a short distance, however, near the 700 Metres RIGHT FRAAR again became disunited in its action and bounded in the air. He said after this he eased RIGHT FRAAR out of the race. When RIGHT FRAAR became disunited in its action and lost ground near the 800 Metres, AMSTERDAM and SUCCESSIVE GAINS, which were following, were checked in consequence. RIGHT FRAAR was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of RIGHT FRAAR after the race did not show any significant findings. Before being permitted to race again, RIGHT FRAAR will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PIONERO and HAPPY CONTENDER were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, PIONERO was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was lame in the left front leg. Also after the race, HAPPY CONTENDER was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was lame in the left front and left hind legs. Before being allowed to race again, PIONERO and HAPPY CONTENDER will both be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MATIRI KING and GRAND NOBLE were sent for sampling.
