Racing Incident Report

Apprentice C Y Ho was dislodged from CENTURY SUPER STAR on entering the Large All Weather Track. Apprentice Ho quickly remounted and CENTURY SUPER STAR proceeded to the barriers. FLASHING AURA was slow to begin. DIAMOND KNIGHT, which was fractious in the barriers, began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped TURF MAGIC. From a wide draw, BLAZING SADDLES was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Making the first turn near the 700 Metres, GRAND DRAGON shifted out when being steadied away from the heels of ELITE SIXTY-SIX. Making the first turn, ELITE SIXTY-SIX was steadied when crowded for room between GOLDEN BAUHINIA which shifted out slightly and DIAMOND KNIGHT (M Guyon) which shifted in. M Guyon was advised to ensure that he leaves sufficient racing room for runners to his inside in future. When questioned, D Whyte stated that from barrier 10, he shifted LUCKY BRAVO across to race behind DIAMOND KNIGHT and although the horse raced three wide, it had cover for the majority of the race. He said in the Straight LUCKY BRAVO responded to his riding only fairly and although he was obliged to steady LUCKY BRAVO away from the heels of CENTURY SUPER STAR near the 150 Metres, in his opinion, LUCKY BRAVO raced “flat” today. A veterinary inspection of LUCKY BRAVO after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that GRAND DRAGON had bled from both nostrils and that ELITE SIXTY-SIX had lost its right front plate. FLASHING AURA and SUPER BOY were sent for sampling.
