Racing Incident Report
SMART VOLATILITY was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (left fore capped elbow). Before being allowed to race again, SMART VOLATILITY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
SELKIRK STAR and PHOTON WILLIE were crowded for room at the start between IMPERIAL CHAMPION and AEROVELOCITY which shifted out.
Near the 1000 Metres, PHOTON WILLIE was steadied away from the heels of IMPERIAL CHAMPION which was awkwardly placed inside CHEETAH BOY which, when being ridden along, was taken in slightly by GOOD WORDS. In this incident, SELKIRK STAR, which was racing to the inside of PHOTON WILLIE, momentarily raced in restricted room between that horse and TWIN DELIGHT.
Approaching the 200 Metres, HYPERSONIC was awkwardly placed inside the heels of FIONN’S TREASURE.
For some distance approaching and passing the 200 Metres, FIONN’S TREASURE was held up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of CHEETAH BOY.
For the majority of the race, PHOTON WILLIE and GOOD WORDS travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of IMPERIAL CHAMPION immediately following the race revealed the horse to have bled from both nostrils.
AEROVELOCITY and OUR FOLKS were sent for sampling.
