Racing Incident Report

NO LAUGHING MATTER was slow to begin.
BORN TO RACE lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and began only fairly.
BRILLIANT MONKEYS was crowded for room on jumping between VICTORY FOLLOW ME and REAL DEAL which shifted out. After this, BRILLIANT MONKEYS was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
From a wide barrier, WINNING CONTROLLER was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Approaching and passing the 1100 Metres, VICTORY MUSIC travelled keenly when being steadied to obtain cover.
Passing the 1000 Metres, ACTUARIAT shifted out and bumped REAL DEAL, causing both horses to become unbalanced.
Near the 750 Metres, GOLD TALENT lost ground when momentarily crowded for room between REAL DEAL and VICTORY MUSIC which got its head on the side and lay out.
VICTORY MUSIC had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.
Throughout the race, REAL DEAL travelled wide and without cover.
Both W M Lai (NO LAUGHING MATTER) and C Schofield (BORN TO RACE) were warned against the practice of using the whip on horses which are out of contention.
BRILLIANT MONKEYS, GAINFULJET and TELECOM BOOM were sent for sampling.
