Racing Incident Report

SUPER WEALTHY and LUCKY WITH YOU bumped on jumping. SUPER WEALTHY was then hampered when crowded for room outside MASTER EIGHT which got its head on the side and shifted out away from REWARDING TOGETHER.
SKY FIELD was crowded for room on jumping outside CAMPIONE which was taken out by COURIER WONDER.
CORDYCEPS SIX was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
SUPER WEALTHY travelled keenly after the 800 Metres and near the 700 Metres raced close to the heels of LUCKY WITH YOU.
At the 500 Metres, CAMPIONE was bumped by COURIER WONDER which shifted out.
After the 400 Metres, DUKE WAI raced tight outside the heels of COMPUTER PATCH which itself was racing tight outside NERVOUS WITNESS.
At the 300 Metres, SUPER WEALTHY and LUCKY WITH YOU brushed.
MASTER EIGHT was shifted in away from the heels of LUCKY WITH YOU passing the 300 Metres to continue improving.
Near the 250 Metres, NERVOUS WITNESS shifted out after coming under pressure and in doing so crowded COMPUTER PATCH out onto DUKE WAI which at this time was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SIGHT SUCCESS. Then passing the 200 Metres, COMPUTER PATCH was crowded for room between NERVOUS WITNESS and DUKE WAI which shifted in away from the heels of SIGHT SUCCESS after continuing to be awkwardly placed behind that horse. As the Stewards were of the opinion that there were a number of circumstances associated with this incident, no further action was taken.
Approaching the 150 Metres, MASTER EIGHT was shifted to the inside of CORDYCEPS SIX after being disappointed for running between that horse and LUCKY WITH YOU.
Passing the 150 Metres, DUKE WAI was steadied away from the heels of SIGHT SUCCESS (V Borges), which shifted in, when endeavouring to improve to the inside of that horse. DUKE WAI was then directed to the outside of the heels of SIGHT SUCCESS passing the 100 Metres in an attempt to obtain clear running, however, continued to be awkwardly placed close to the heels of SIGHT SUCCESS which then shifted out marginally. Because of this, DUKE WAI was not able to be properly tested over the concluding stages. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that DUKE WAI had not properly established running to the inside of SIGHT SUCCESS, nonetheless V Borges was told to ensure that he makes every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground in similar circumstances.
Passing the 50 Metres, CORDYCEPS SIX raced in restricted room between SUPER WEALTHY and STRONGER which was racing tight outside CORDYCEPS SIX.
After the race, M F Poon reported that CAMPIONE was not comfortable today when having to race amongst horses. He said CAMPIONE came under pressure a long way from the finish and then over the concluding stages gave ground. A veterinary inspection of CAMPIONE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Also after the race, K C Leung reported that NERVOUS WITNESS became very worked up behind the barriers and, in his opinion, this accounted for the horse’s disappointing performance in today’s race. A veterinary inspection of NERVOUS WITNESS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Following the race, it was noted that DUKE WAI had sustained a laceration to the left front fetlock.
A veterinary inspection of COURIER WONDER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of LUCKY WITH YOU immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY WITH YOU will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
SIGHT SUCCESS and REWARDING TOGETHER were sent for sampling.
