1 12 ACA POWER (E144) From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 11 DAILY TROPHY (H283) Sent for sampling post-race.
3 8 LEAN MASTER (H134) When questioned regarding his mount leading, Apprentice Y L Chung stated that from the inside barrier he was instructed to lead on LEAN MASTER and as a consequence he rode his mount along in the early stages to comply with his instructions. Trainer C H Yip stated that with blinkers on today, from the inside barrier and having its first start on the All Weather surface and with the apprentice claim, he had instructed Apprentice Chung to lead on the horse. He stated that such instructions were issued as LEAN MASTER had also performed well when ridden in a forward position in a barrier trial on 14 November 2023.
4 6 COOL BLUE (H011) Near the 250 Metres, when laying out, raced tight to the inside of MULTISUPER. Then continued to lay out to the finish of the event.
5 3 TOGEPI (G458) Jumped only fairly and then blundered shortly after the start.
6 2 MULTISUPER (G416) After the race, J McDonald reported that his mount jumped awkwardly and lost ground and, in his opinion, did not appreciate the kickback when being settled in behind runners. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
7 7 MORE RICE (H271) Jumped only fairly. For a short distance after the 250 Metres was held up behind RED DESERT before shifting to the outside to secure clear running approaching the 150 Metres.
8 5 COLOURFUL PRINCE (E418) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, COLOURFUL PRINCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
9 10 DIAMOND FLARE (H224) No report.
10 4 RED DESERT (C287) After the race, B Avdulla stated that his mount travelled satisfactorily behind the leaders throughout the early stages. He said on the Home Turn RED DESERT came under pressure before weakening in the Home Straight. Trainer J Size advised that RED DESERT had pleased him since its last start win on 25 October 2023, barrier trialed well on 14 November 2023 and could offer no excuse for today’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance was considered to be disappointing as compared to its previous starts. Before being allowed to race again, RED DESERT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
11 1 MAGIC SUPREME (D144) Near the 750 Metres was steadied when crowded by COLOURFUL PRINCE (K De Melo) which shifted in when not clear. K De Melo was advised to exercise more care. Then obliged to race wide and without cover for the remainder of the event.
12 9 SMART FOLKS (D343) Lay out in the middle stages and made the Home Turn wide. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
WV BRAVE WITNESS (H425) Withdrawn on 25.11.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (wound to left hip) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter COLOURFUL PRINCE. Before being allowed to race again, BRAVE WITNESS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
