3 2 SIMPLY MAVERICK (H346) Bumped at the start. Leaving the 1300 Metres was bumped heavily by CHOICERUS, blundered badly, became unbalanced and lost ground. Sent for sampling post-race.

8 9 SPARKY STAR (C416) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. In the middle stages raced keenly due to the slow pace.
9 11 TACTICAL COMMAND (H197) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 1 SPANGLE FORTUNE (G427) Leaving the 1000 Metres, due to the slow pace, was allowed to stride forward but was obliged to race wide and without cover thereafter.
11 12 CHOICERUS (H029) Bumped at the start. Near the 1300 Metres, CHOICERUS, which was racing fiercely, got its head up and was checked when crowded between MASTER TORNADO and TACTICAL COMMAND (M L Yeung) which, after shifting in before being corrected by its rider, then raced tight to the inside of RED HARE KING (L Hewitson). M L Yeung and L Hewitson were advised to exercise more care. However, the Stewards found the racing manners of CHOICERUS were the main reason for the interference occurring. CHOICERUS then continued to race fiercely throughout the early stages and refused to settle despite the efforts of its rider. The racing manners of CHOICERUS were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, CHOICERUS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial amongst other runners. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 6 SIR HURRICANE (H449) Jumped only fairly, shifted out and was bumped. In the early and middle stages over-raced due to the slow pace.
WV GALLANT CROWN (D359) Withdrawn on 18.12.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (heart irregularity) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter SPANGLE FORTUNE. Before being allowed to race again, GALLANT CROWN will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
