Racing Incident Report

1 1 M UNICORN (G466) Near the 1400 Metres was steadied when crowded by TEST FOR LOVE (R Kingscote) which shifted in when not clear. R Kingscote was reprimanded. When questioned, H Bowman stated that after being crowded in the early stages M UNICORN settled further back than what had been intended. He said entering the Back Straight when he was of the opinion the pace of the event was not genuine he elected to allow M UNICORN to commence a forward move near the 800 Metres which resulted in M UNICORN being able to obtain the lead near the 600 Metres and sustaining its run to win the event. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 10 STURDY RUBY (H207) Held up making the Home Turn. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 2 EXCELLENCE VALUE (K093) Jumped only fairly, shifted in and made contact with FLYING FORTRESS.
4 11 FLYING FORTRESS (J445) Bumped at the start. For some distance after the 1200 Metres raced keenly and got its head up. For some distance near the 350 Metres was held up for clear running behind DEVAS TWELVE. After the event, H Bentley stated that from an inside barrier his mount commenced well and was able to take up a slightly more forward position than intended. Sent for sampling post-race.
5 5 A AMERIC TE SPECSO (H037) Jumped only fairly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
6 9 QUANTUM PATCH (H166) Approaching the 600 Metres became unbalanced when crowded between TEST FOR LOVE which was racing tight to the inside of RISING FROM ASHES and STURDY RUBY which shifted out before being corrected by its rider.
7 12 SURE JOYFUL (G125) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
8 7 TEST FOR LOVE (K083) Jumped awkwardly.
9 3 SAMARKAND (H070) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 4 RISING FROM ASHES (G209) No report.
11 8 DEVAS TWELVE (H435) Near the 200 Metres rider K De Melo dropped his whip.
12 6 LOVERO (H451) After the event, Y L Chung stated that after making use of his mount to go forward in the early stages from the outside barrier LOVERO gave ground when under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
WV MORGAN SUCCESS (K203) Withdrawn on 18.3.25 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (acute dermatitis) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter LOVERO. Before being allowed to race again, MORGAN SUCCESS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
