Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
1 10 BRIGHT MORTAR (K333) Noted to have blood in the mouth on arrival at the Start, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Jumped only fairly. Sent for sampling post-race. <5/1/2026 Additional Veterinary Report> The Veterinary Surgeon reported that BRIGHT MORTAR was lame in its right front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, BRIGHT MORTAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
2 2 ONE MAN SHOW (K409) Sent for sampling post-race.
3 9 SO MY FOLKS (K456) Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
4 1 VULCANUS (J150) On jumping was hampered when taken wider by SO MY FOLKS. Approaching the 300 Metres shifted out and bumped GOKO WIN.
5 12 NO OTHER CHOICE (K049) Jumped awkwardly. In the Home Straight lay out and proved difficult to ride.
6 8 SWAGGER BRO (K089) No report.
7 7 LEAN MASTER (H134) No report.
8 11 CIRRUS SPEED (K279) Jumped only fairly and then was checked when crowded between MY TRIUMPH and VULCANUS which was taken out by SO MY FOLKS. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 5 MY TRIUMPH (K558) Leaving the 300 Metres was steadied when crowded between SWAGGER BRO and GOKO WIN (L Hewitson) which shifted out after being bumped slightly by VULCANUS. L Hewitson was advised to exercise more care.
10 6 NOTTHESILLYONE (J383) L Ferraris stated that instructions were to lead the event. He said when his mount jumped only fairly it did not show sufficient pace to cross LEAN MASTER and as a result he was obliged to hold a position outside of that runner. He added in the Home Straight NOTTHESILLYONE did not respond to his riding and, in his opinion, races better when able to dictate in the lead. Trainer M Newnham confirmed the instructions issued and concurred with the views of Jockey Ferraris that the horse is best suited when racing in front. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of NOTTHESILLYONE, a last start winner, was considered disappointing. Before being allowed to race again, NOTTHESILLYONE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.
11 3 GOKO WIN (H069) Approaching the 300 Metres was bumped by VULCANUS. L Hewitson stated that the instructions were to endeavour to find a position with cover. He said in the early stages he rode his mount forward to attempt to comply with his instructions but when unable to cross runners to his inside he was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
12 4 FRANCIS MEYNELL (J394) Jumped awkwardly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
WV NEW POWER (H325) NEW POWER, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 3.1.26 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (left front ligament injury). Before being allowed to race again, NEW POWER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
