Racing Incident Report
SHINING DRAGON and KAO AND MING were slow to begin. FLY ME TO THE MOON bounded in the air at the start and lost ground. PALIO KING was slow to begin and then from a wide barrier was taken across behind runners. Shortly after the start, KAO AND MING was crowded for room between SHINING DRAGON and FLY ME TO THE MOON, both of which shifted ground. As a result of this crowding, all three horses became unbalanced. Near the 1100 Metres, KAO AND MING was steadied away from the heels of SHINING DRAGON. PALIO KING made the turn near the 1000 Metres awkwardly and then making the Home Turn was awkwardly placed inside MAGNIFICENT HORSE. Near the 800 Metres, FLY ME TO THE MOON was steadied away from the heels of WISDOM EXPRESS which at this time shifted in slightly. After this, WISDOM EXPRESS continued to travel wide and without cover. At the 250 Metres, MAGNIFICENT HORSE was shifted out away from the heels of KAO AND MING. Near the 100 Metres, PALIO KING, which was closing the race off fairly, was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of FLY ME TO THE MOON. Then after this, PALIO KING did not obtain clear running and as a consequence was not fully tested. Over the concluding stages, SHINING DRAGON hung in. In the run to the line, FLY ME TO THE MOON was awkwardly placed inside SUPERSONIC and outside the heels of MASTER DREAMER. Because of this, FLY ME TO THE MOON was not ridden out right to the post. Apprentice K T Yeung (WISDOM EXPRESS), 4th placegetter, was told to ensure he rode all his mounts out at least hands and heels to the line where circumstances permit. PALIO KING was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of PALIO KING after the race did not show any significant findings. GANBARIA and SHINING DRAGON were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported SUPERSONIC had lost its left hind plate.
