Racing Incident Report
THE ONLY ONE, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 11.4.06 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore). Before being allowed to race again, THE ONLY ONE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CAPITALAND began awkwardly and got its head up. GALLANT FALCON was slow to begin, then shortly afterwards lost further ground when awkwardly placed between ARMONDO and FORTUNE BOY which on jumping was bumped by LUCKY DRAGON. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, KING OF FISH was momentarily steadied away from the heels of CAPE PRINCE. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, ARMONDO and LUCKY DRAGON were momentarily crowded for room inside CAPE PRINCE. Near the 1300 Metres, ARMONDO was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of LUCKY DRAGON which at this time was carried in slightly by CAPE PRINCE (D Whyte). D Whyte was told to exercise greater care. At the 1200 Metres, LUCKY DRAGON was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of CAPE PRINCE which shifted in further when not properly clear. D Whyte was reprimanded. In the middle stages, FORTUNE BOY raced ungenerously and hung out. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, CYPRESS HILL was steadied away from the heels of GALLANT FALCON. In the Straight, CYPRESS HILL had difficulty obtaining clear running and was shifted wider on the track. Then over the concluding stages, CYPRESS HILL hung in. Because of this, CYPRESS HILL was not fully tested. After the 200 Metres, LUCKY DRAGON and FIGHTING MASCOT were steadied when awkwardly placed between CAPE PRINCE and CALIFORNIA BISHOP. Over the concluding stages, GALLANT FALCON was awkwardly placed between CYPRESS HILL and CAPITALAND which was shifting in. Because of this, GALLANT FALCON was not ridden out to the end of the race. In the run to the winning post, KING OF FISH was awkwardly placed inside the heels of CAPE PRINCE. Because of this, KING OF FISH was not ridden out to the end of the race. After passing the winning post, ARMONDO blundered and nearly fell when crowded for room inside KING OF FISH which itself was racing tight inside CAPE PRINCE which at this time was carried in by CALIFORNIA BISHOP (Apprentice K L Chui). Apprentice Chui was severely reprimanded and told even though this matter was taking place after the end of the race, he must still exercise care. CAPE PRINCE, AWARD and ABERDEEN were sent for sampling.
