Racing Incident Report
On arrival at the Start, A Badel expressed concern about IVY LEAGUE’s action. IVY LEAGUE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was lame in its left front leg and as such was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, IVY LEAGUE was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, IVY LEAGUE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
CHIU CHOW SPIRIT jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
MASTER OF FORTUNE made contact with the right side of its barrier on jumping, shifted in and made contact with UNIVERSAL HORIZON.
From the outside barrier, PRECISE EXPRESS was shifted across behind runners in the early stages and raced keenly in the middle stages.
Passing the 1500 Metres, PERFECT TEAM, which was racing keenly, was steadied when being crossed by AMAZING VICTORY. PERFECT TEAM continued to race keenly in the early stages.
Near the 1200 Metres, LEADING FORTUNE was steadied away from UNIVERSAL HORIZON and as a result shifted out, taking AMAZING VICTORY wider. AMAZING VICTORY then raced wide and without cover thereafter.
PRECISE EXPRESS was held up for clear running between the 350 Metres and the 300 Metres.
Approaching the 300 Metres, UNIVERSAL HORIZON was shifted to the outside of AMAZING VICTORY to obtain clear running, resulting in CHIU CHOW SPIRIT being taken out and making contact with UNIVERSAL HORIZON for a number of strides.
A veterinary inspection of CHIU CHOW SPIRIT immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
A veterinary inspection of CHARITY BINGO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
LEADING FORTUNE and UNIVERSAL HORIZON were sent for sampling.
