2 1 FLYING HIGH (E204) Near the 150 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned behind CHEVAL VALIANT and after obtaining a run to the inside of CHEVAL VALIANT near the 100 Metres was accidentally struck across its head by the whip of Apprentice Y L Chung, the rider of CHEVAL VALIANT. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 10 CHEVAL VALIANT (E336) Near the 100 Metres Apprentice Y L Chung had difficulty using his whip for a number of strides when positioned close to FLYING HIGH.
4 2 O'LINER (H264) Jumped only fairly.
5 7 NICCONI COUNTY (G208) No report.
6 11 KYRUS DRAGON (H396) Made contact with the left side of its barrier and lost ground on jumping.
7 6 NORTHERN BEACHES (H266) Approaching the 100 Metres was steadied when crowded between PLEASANT ENDEAVOR and FLYING HIGH (M Chadwick) which shifted to the inside of CHEVAL VALIANT to secure clear running. M Chadwick was reprimanded and advised he must ensure that there is sufficient room when improving into runs. Noted to have lost its right front plate after the race. Sent for sampling post-race.
8 5 RUN RUN COOL (E322) Jumped only fairly.
9 9 CALIFORNIA TOUCH (J051) After the race, C Y Ho could offer no explanation for his mount’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 4 SPARKLING KNIGHT (C201) After the race, A Hamelin could offer no explanation for his mount’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
WV 8 SUMMIT CHEERS (E221) Withdrawn on 6.1.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (heart irregularity). Before being allowed to race again, SUMMIT CHEERS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
