Racing Incident Report

NAZAKAT II was slow to begin. FORTUNE GLORY began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the outside gate of its barrier. In the early stages, HIGH POTENTIAL, which was proving difficult to settle, raced three wide and without cover in a forward position. Near the 1200 Metres, SWEETIE was momentarily crowded inside TAMBORA STAR. In the middle stages, FLOWERS PRIDE proved difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of TAMBORA STAR. Near the 500 Metres, TAMBORA STAR, which was commencing to give ground, became unbalanced when crowded for room between HIGH POTENTIAL and HAIL WINNER, both of which shifted ground. FLOWERS PRIDE, which was following TAMBORA STAR, was severely checked in consequence, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of NAZAKAT II which became unbalanced. In the circumstances, no action was taken. After this incident, TAMBORA STAR continued to give ground, tailed out and was then eased down. TAMBORA STAR was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. TAMBORA STAR was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse returned distressed following the race. Before TAMBORA STAR will be permitted to race again, it must perform competitively in an official barrier trial and will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PERFECT VISION was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. After the race, PERFECT VISION was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No significant findings were made. NAZAKAT II, COMFORT and HAIL WINNER were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted SPECTACULAR TALK was making an abnormal breathing noise. The horse has previously been reported as a "roarer".
