Racing Incident Report

NAZAKAT II was slow to begin. TRULY HAPPY was slow to begin and shortly after the start was checked when crowded for room between SPECTACULAR WIN and GANBARIA STAR which got its head on the side and shifted in abruptly. In this incident, SPECTACULAR WIN was hampered and lost ground. After this, SPECTACULAR WIN was ridden along to go around the field and join the lead. Near the winning post on the first occasion, BULLSHOT, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head up and shifted out away from the heels of SWEETIE. Prior to straightening, BULLSHOT was steadied away from the heels of SWEETIE. After the 100 Metres, GANBARIA STAR was momentarily steadied away from the heels of LUCKY FRIENDS which was giving ground. Throughout the race, HANDSOME MAN was obliged to race wide and without cover. When questioned, Mr K W Lui, trainer of NAZAKAT II, said prior to the horse's most recent start, it was more stirred up in the parade than is usual. He said on that occasion NAZAKAT II was a little slow to begin and then was ridden along to race in midfield. He said after becoming unbalanced and being bumped at the 500 Metres it failed to finish the race off as he had hoped. He said tonight NAZAKAT II paraded nicely, it was his intention to have the horse ridden in midfield, however, it was slow to begin and therefore was ridden further back than is usual. Mr Lui noted tonight's race was run at an even tempo and in his opinion this suited NAZAKAT II. The explanations of Mr Lui were accepted. LUCKY FRIENDS, NAZAKAT II and HAIL WINNER were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted VIGOROSO had sustained a laceration to its left hind leg as a result of being galloped on. Before being allowed to race again, VIGOROSO will be required to pass an official veterinary examination.
