Racing Incident Report

After the majority of the field had been loaded, WISHMASTER (H K Yim) reared over and landed on its back. When WISHMASTER reared over, Jockey Yim sustained an injury to his left ankle. WISHMASTER then lashed out with its hind legs and kicked GREEN DIAMOND which had drawn to its outside. As Jockey Yim was injured, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of WISHMASTER and acting on the advice of the Veterinary Surgeon that GREEN DIAMOND was lame in front and not suitable to race, the Stewards also ordered the withdrawal of that horse. Before being permitted to race again, WISHMASTER will have to perform satisfactorily in a series of official barrier trials. Before GREEN DIAMOND can race again, it will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. HEAD NORTH began awkwardly and got its head up. DIAMOND CENTURY began awkwardly, shifted out and was steadied away from the heels of WINNING COUNTER. TSZ WAN FORTUNE began awkwardly. Over about the last 400 Metres, HEAD NORTH, which was giving ground, hung out. R Fradd (DIAMOND CENTURY) said after beginning badly the horse proved very difficult to settle in the early stages, near the 700 Metres he shifted to the inside of MR COOL and the horse immediately started to hang in. He said because he had WEALTHY TREASURE racing to his inside he was not able to ride DIAMOND CENTURY out as he normally would. HEAD NORTH was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, it was reported that HEAD NORTH had bled from both nostrils. MULTIDANDY and HELENE PILLAGING were sent for sampling.
