Racing Incident Report

After being boxed, TORI TOP became fractious and reared. TORI TOP was removed from its stall and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion the horse was suitable to race. UNIVERSAL GLORY was slow to begin. On jumping, SKY HAWK and TREASURE FIELD bumped. Shortly afterwards, SKY HAWK became badly unbalanced, was checked away from the heels of ALL WIN after being bumped by TREASURE FIELD which shifted in abruptly as a result of being bumped by CYBER GULCH. Shortly after the start, TORI TOP was steadied when crowded for room between GUSCOTT and THE RICH MAN which momentarily shifted in. Near the winning post the first time, ALL WIN, which was reluctant to hold its position, was steadied when crowded for room inside CYBER GULCH which was taken in slightly by TORI TOP (D Whyte) which shifted in when barely clear. D Whyte was advised to exercise more care. From the outside barrier, CHERISHED was immediately steadied on jumping and shifted across behind runners to a position on the rail but at the rear. Making the turn at the 1200 Metres, CHIU CHOW HERO hung in. Near the 500 Metres, CHERISHED hung out badly across the heels of TORI TOP and bumped CYBER GULCH. For some distance after this, CHERISHED was awkwardly placed close to the heels of TORI TOP. On the latter part of the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight, CHIU CHOW HERO was awkwardly placed close to the heels of TREASURE FIELD which was giving ground. Throughout the race, MAJESTIC WARRIOR was obliged to race wide and without cover. Y T Cheng (TREASURE FIELD) said after the 400 Metres his mount gave ground quickly, was unbalanced in its action and in his opinion felt sore in front. Because of this, he did not ride TREASURE FIELD out in the Straight. TREASURE FIELD was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. After the race, TREASURE FIELD was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No significant findings were made. The performance of TREASURE FIELD was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, it must perform competitively in an official barrier trial and will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CHERISHED, THE RICH MAN and GIDDY KIPPER were sent for sampling.
