Racing Incident Report

SNIPER was difficult to load and then when the gates opened was standing badly, consequently began awkwardly and lost ground. Before being allowed to race again, SNIPER will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. SANBENITO, GOOD HEART and HOROSCOPE were slow to begin. ASIA RISING got its head up on jumping, then in the early and middle stages proved very difficult to settle and on a number of occasions got its head in the air. EUPHORIC KID, which was to be ridden in a rearward position today, was immediately steadied on jumping and taken back across behind runners. In the early stages, MY CHOICE, AGILITY and FOUR ACES proved difficult to settle. Before straightening, STAR BLADE became unbalanced, blundered and was then eased out of the race. HOROSCOPE, which was following STAR BLADE, was checked to avoid the heels of that horse. EUPHORIC KID was inconvenienced when HOROSCOPE checked. After the race, the Veterianry Officer reported that STAR BLADE was lame in the right front leg due to a tendon injury. Before being allowed to race again, STAR BLADE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Shortly after straightening, MY CHOICE was steadied and shifted to the outside of SWEET SMILE to go forward. In the Straight, BOWIN hung in and proved difficult to settle. Just prior to the winning post, BOWIN was struck over the nose by the whip of Apprentice K T Yeung (MR COOL). FOUR ACES was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, FOUR ACES was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No significant findings were made. AGILITY and MY CHOICE were sent for sampling.
