Racing Incident Report

After being placed in the barriers, WING FOOT became fractious and reared. The horse was removed from its stall and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said the horse was suitable to race. After being boxed, AMICABLE became fractious, broke through and shortly afterwards dislodged its rider, C Williams. AMICABLE continued on and galloped some distance. Acting on veterinary advice that AMICABLE was not suitable to race, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the horse. Before being allowed to race again, AMICABLE will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. FUN CRUISER was slow to begin. MILLENNIUM DAWN began awkwardly, got its head up, shifted out and bumped GOLDEN MILE. As a consequence, MILLENNIUM DAWN lost ground. Shortly after the start, ACME OF SURPRISE raced awkwardly and attempted to buck. Mr D Cruz, the trainer of ACME OF SURPRISE, was advised a warning will be placed on the horse and should it perform similarly in future, further action may be taken. Making the first turn, L'ENFANT was awkwardly placed outside the heels of WAIALAE WIN. Also making the first turn, COSMO STAR hung out and near the 1200 Metres shifted out after being bumped by FUN CRUISER. As a result of this, FLYING DRAGON and SPEED WINNER were hampered and carried wider. Making the turn after the 1200 Metres, LAZY BUDDIES was crowded for room inside ETERNAL FUN which at this time got its head on the side and shifted in. WING FOOT made the Home Turn awkwardly and shifted wider on the track. Also making the Home Turn, L'ENFANT was awkwardly placed inside the heels of WAIALAE WIN. At the 200 Metres, WAIALAE WIN, which was giving ground, was momentarily steadied away from the heels of L'ENFANT which shifted out. After the 200 Metres, COSMO STAR was steadied and shifted to the outside of the heels of FUN CRUISER which was giving ground. At the 100 Metres, ETERNAL FUN and GOLDEN MILE bumped. FUN CRUISER was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. After the race, FUN CRUISER was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of mucus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, FUN CRUISER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WAIALAE WIN, LAZY BUDDIES and L'ENFANT were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted FLYING DRAGON, which tailed out, was making an abnormal breathing noise. The performance of FLYING DRAGON was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, FLYING DRAGON will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
