Racing Incident Report
EXPEDITIOUS began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of FIREWHEEL which shifted out. Shortly after the start, MAGIC TEMPLE, which had been taken back from its wide barrier, got its head up, bounded in the air, shifted in and bumped KONRAD THE GREAT. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, GUNG HO and DANEHILL WARRIOR were crowded for room inside TRIUMPH (K Fallon) which shifted in when not clear. In this incident, GUNG HO was steadied and lost its running. K Fallon was severely reprimanded and told in similar circumstances he would be expected to ensure he allows runners to his inside sufficient racing room. For some distance near the 500 Metres, MILITARY OPTION was steadied when held up and awkwardly placed close to the heels of PHOENIX FORTUNE. On straightening, GUNG HO, which had been endeavouring to improve between FIREWHEEL and DANEHILL WARRIOR where there was insufficient room, was checked and shifted in when disappointed for running. Also on straightening, MILITARY OPTION was steadied and shifted to the outside of THOUSAND WINS into clear running. After straightening, PHOENIX FORTUNE was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of DANEHILL WARRIOR. Also after straightening, FORTUNE WARRIOR was shifted wider on the track in an endeavour to obtain clear running and on several occasions near the 200 Metres made contact with MAGIC TEMPLE which had its head on the side and was laying in. After the 200 Metres, FIREWHEEL, which was hanging in, was steadied away from the heels of EXPEDITIOUS and TRIUMPH. GUNG HO and DANEHILL WARRIOR were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of GUNG HO and DANEHILL WARRIOR after the race did not show any significant findings. EXPEDITIOUS, SUNBELL and MILITARY OPTION were sent for sampling.
