Racing Incident Report

COTTON BALL was withdrawn on 11.4.05 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter LUCKY SUPERSTAR. FLYING PROFILE was withdrawn on 12.4.05 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter DONGGUAN VICTORY (O Chavez). Before being allowed to race again, COTTON BALL and FLYING PROFILE will both be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After arriving at the Start, the tongue tie fitted to DONGGUAN VICTORY was refitted. DONGGUAN VICTORY, LUCKY SUPERSTAR and MILLION SUCCESS were slow to begin. On jumping, BARRACUDA shifted in and bumped WATCHMAN. After this, BARRACUDA was steadied in an attempt to find a position with cover. Near the 1600 Metres, MILLION SUCCESS was steadied to avoid the heels of BARRACUDA which was endeavouring to shift to a position behind JUST TOO GOOD which would provide it with cover. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, STEP FORWARD, which was proving difficult to settle when racing wide and without cover, was allowed to stride forward and join the lead. At the winning post on the first occasion, LUCKY SUPERSTAR, which was proving difficult to settle, was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of BARRACUDA. At the 1300 Metres, WATCHMAN was steadied away from the heels of VITAL PATROL which shifted out away from the heels of DOUBLE PLEASURE which momentarily shifted out. Near the 100 Metres, STEP FORWARD was momentarily steadied away from the heels of FOREVER WIN which after getting its head on the side shifted in. BARRACUDA was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of BARRACUDA after the race did not show any significant findings. DOUBLE PLEASURE and FOREVER WIN were sent for sampling.
