Racing Incident Report

When being led into the starting gates, GENERAL KINGY was kicked by another runner on the right hind leg. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of GENERAL KINGY. Before being allowed to race again, GENERAL KINGY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PILLOW KING was slow to begin. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, SHADOW KNIGHT hung out. In the early part of the Straight, GOLDEN CARE was held up and unable to improve between SENSIBLE WAY and CLASSIC NAVIGATOR. Near the 300 Metres, GOLDEN CARE was shifted to the inside of SENSIBLE WAY to go forward. At the 300 Metres, JOYFUL WINNER was shifted to the outside of FIFTY FIFTY to continue going forward. In the Straight, FIFTY FIFTY hung in. K S Yu (KINGSTON WINNER) was reminded of his obligations to ensure all horses ridden by him are fully tested in the run to the line where circumstances permit. When questioned regarding his riding over the final 200 Metres, G Mossé (HONOUR SUPREME) said he did not persevere with the horse as in his opinion it was not right in its action. HONOUR SUPREME and SHADOW KNIGHT were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, HONOUR SUPREME was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in its trachea. Before being allowed to race again, HONOUR SUPREME will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of SHADOW KNIGHT after the race did not show any significant findings. GOLDEN CARE, JOYFUL WINNER and FIFTY FIFTY were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported PILLOW KING had sustained a laceration to the nostril.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 24 October 2005)
HONOUR SUPREME, which performed poorly, was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. HONOUR SUPREME was again examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison at the stables of Trainer B K Ng yesterday morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in the left front leg. As previously advised, HONOUR SUPREME will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
