Racing Incident Report

Prior to the declaration of weighed-in, the Stewards considered at the request of Y T Cheng, the rider of LUCKY YEARS, whether that horse had had an unfair start. The evidence disclosed that as the start was effected, LUCKY YEARS became fractious, reared, then momentarily had its head caught behind the adjoining partition of the stall to its outside and as a consequence lost a significant amount of ground. In the circumstances, the Stewards were satisfied LUCKY YEARS had not had an unfair start. They deemed the horse to be a runner and declared weighed-in on the Judge's numbers as semaphored. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY YEARS will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. When the gates opened, KIWI DASH stood-flooted and lost a considerable amount of ground. TO SIR WITH LOVE began awkwardly and bumped the outside gate of its stall. At the 1200 Metres, TO SIR WITH LOVE was steadied away from the heels of JUSTINIAN which itself was proving difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of WINNING RONGRONG. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, TO SIR WITH LOVE, which at this time was proving difficult to settle, was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of JUSTINIAN. In the early part of the Straight, KIWI DASH hung in. At the 300 Metres, NOBLE GLORY was steadied and shifted to the outside of SPECTACULAR TIMES to obtain clear running. Throughout the race, MAXIMUS raced wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. WINNING RONGRONG was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported WINNING RONGRONG had bled from both nostrils. THAT'S IT and DONGGUAN VICTORY were sent for sampling.
