Racing Incident Report

DOUBLE PLEASURE was withdrawn on 29.9.06 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (substantial amount of blood in trachea on post-training scoping). Before being allowed to race again, DOUBLE PLEASURE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A PLUS FIT was slow to begin, then failed to muster speed in the early stages. NAMJONG MONEY and ALWAYS HAPPY bounded in the air at the start. Then for the major part of the race, NAMJONG MONEY travelled wide and without cover. Shortly after the start, CENTENNIAL SMILE got its head up and was reluctant to hold its position after bumping with SUDDEN SPLENDOR. CENTENNIAL SMILE, RAIN IN SPRING and A PLUS FIT were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of CENTENNIAL SMILE, RAIN IN SPRING and A PLUS FIT after the race did not show any significant findings. CELEBRATION and SUPER IDEAL were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported QUALITY-QUALITY had sustained a wound to its right front pastern.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 3 October 2006)
A PLUS FIT, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. A PLUS FIT was again examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C S Shum yesterday morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to have a very stiff and restricted action. Before being allowed to race again, A PLUS FIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
