Racing Incident Report

ROYAL FALCON bounded in the air at the start and then was taken across behind runners. LAZY BUDDIES began awkwardly and lost ground. From the outside barrier, SMACKO was taken across behind runners. Shortly after the start, SUPER FIGHTER, which had been intended to be ridden in a forward position, was steadied when awkwardly placed between KING HESPERUS and FLYING BISHOP. Making the first turn, VICTORY TREASURE was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of KING HESPERUS which itself was awkwardly placed inside the heels of MR COOL. Also making the first turn, WADADELIGHT was checked when crowded for room inside SING FAY FAY which after initially getting its head on the side and shifting in away from DARE TO WIN (H K Yim) was then carried in further by that horse. In the circumstances, no action was taken, however, H K Yim was advised to exercise care. Near the 900 Metres, SING FAY FAY was steadied away from the heels of DARE TO WIN which itself was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of MR COOL (Apprentice C K Tong) which after crossing to the lead steadied the tempo. Apprentice Tong was told to ensure he does not allow the tempo of the race to steady, thereby causing inconvenience to other runners. At the 900 Metres, WADADELIGHT was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of FLYING BISHOP. In the middle stages, SUPER FIGHTER raced wide and without cover. Making the Home Turn, SING FAY FAY was held up and unable to obtain clear running. Near the 200 Metres, SMACKO was momentarily steadied when having difficulty obtaining clear running. The performance of MR COOL, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MR COOL will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MR COOL was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of MR COOL after the race did not show any significant findings. DARE TO WIN, SING FAY FAY and WADADELIGHT were sent for sampling.
