Racing Incident Report

On jumping, FIRST BABY was taken across behind runners. Near the 1200 Metres, REAL PLEASURE was steadied to avoid the heels of COSMO SUCCESSOR (Apprentice K C Leung) which shifted in when not properly clear. Apprentice Leung was reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. At the 700 Metres, REAL PLEASURE was carried wider by COSMO SUCCESSOR which shifted to the outside of MASSIVE STAR. At the 500 Metres, AMAZING JOURNEY was steadied when crowded for room inside ALMIGHTY which shifted in momentarily when being steadied away from the heels of COSMO SUCCESSOR. Also at the 500 Metres, OSCAR PRINCE was steadied when disappointed for running between MOONGLOW and THE ONLY KID (B Prebble) which shifted in. B Prebble was reprimanded. Prior to straightening, FIRST BABY was steadied away from the heels of METRO RIDER which at this time was steadied and shifted to the outside of HEIMORI into clear running. For some distance approaching and passing the 400 Metres, THE ONLY KID had difficulty obtaining clear running. Shortly after the 400 Metres, B Doyle (DAILY DOUBLE) dropped his whip. For some distance approaching and passing the 200 Metres, OSCAR PRINCE had difficulty obtaining clear running and because of this was not fully tested. Over the concluding stages, FIRST BABY hung out and shifted wider on the track. Prior to the winning post, AMAZING JOURNEY was checked when crowded for room between REAL PLEASURE which shifted out slightly and MOONGLOW (K L Chui) which shifted in when improving towards the inside of OSCAR PRINCE which was also shifting in. K L Chui was told in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mount. For the majority of the Home Straight, AMAZING JOURNEY did not obtain clear running and because of this was not tested. In the Straight, ALMIGHTY hung in and proved difficult to ride. Throughout the race, SEVENS HEAVEN travelled wide and without cover. THE ONLY KID and HEIMORI were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that METRO RIDER had lost its left hind plate.
