Racing Incident Report

HOLEY DOLLAR began awkwardly and was slow into stride. W C Marwing (HOLEY DOLLAR) reported on jumping his saddle shifted back. INVINCIBLEKINDNESS was slow to begin. In the early stages, BEAUTY EXPRESS was taken back. In the middle stages, INVINCIBLEKINDNESS proved difficult to settle and approaching the 600 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of WELL NOTED. Shortly after straightening, CHATER POWER was steadied after being bumped by HOLEY DOLLAR when disappointed for running between that horse and STAR OF FAME. Also shortly after straightening, INVINCIBLEKINDNESS, which was having difficulty obtaining clear running, was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of LUCKY WINNER. For a short distance after straightening, WELL NOTED experienced difficulty obtaining clear running and was steadied away from the heels of OCEAN TRANQUIL. K T Yeung (STAR OF FAME) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that after the 200 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of MR COOL which was checked and BEAUTY EXPRESS and INVINCIBLEKINDNESS which were checked severely. K T Yeung was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday 29 June 2009 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday 21 June 2009. In addition, K T Yeung was fined $40,000 in lieu of a suspension for a period incorporating 2 further racedays. For some distance approaching the 200 Metres, INVINCIBLEKINDNESS had difficulty obtaining clear running. CHATER POWER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of CHATER POWER after the race did not show any significant findings. OCEAN TRANQUIL, PERFECT STYLE and WELL NOTED were sent for sampling. After the race, OCEAN TRANQUIL was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had sustained a wound to the left front cannon. Before being allowed to race again, OCEAN TRANQUIL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.　<11/6/2009 Additional Veterinary Report> CHATER POWER, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. CHATER POWER was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D E Ferraris this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, CHATER POWER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
