Racing Incident Report

After being mounted prior to leaving the Parade Ring, FIRST IN COMMAND took charge, resulting in its rider, B Prebble, being dislodged. FIRST IN COMMAND then completed a circuit of the track riderless. Acting on veterinary advice that FIRST IN COMMAND was not suitable to race, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, FIRST IN COMMAND will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. On arrival at the Start, the tongue tie fitted to BERNARD’S CHOICE was replaced. SUPER FRESH proved difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER FRESH will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. From wide barriers, BERNARD’S CHOICE and IMPERIAL ROME were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Shortly after the start, TURF MAGIC was steadied when crowded for room between IMPECCABLE and MY GOAL which shifted out. Also shortly after the start, SUPER FRESH was steadied away from the heels of GLENEALY STAR when crowded for room between that horse and IMPECCABLE. When being steadied in the early stages, POCKET ROCKETS proved difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions. After the 900 Metres, POCKET ROCKETS, which continued to prove very difficult to settle, was left racing wide and without cover. For the majority of the race, CITY POWER travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of POCKET ROCKETS after the race did not show any significant findings. MY GOAL and GLENEALY STAR were sent for sampling.
