Racing Incident Report

RAINBOW FIGHTER began awkwardly and shortly after the start was crowded for room between B CHOICE and NOBODY BUT YOU which was taken in by PERFECT FINISH which, after initially being taken in by ALL FRIENDS, then got its head on the side and shifted in further. In this incident, NOBODY BUT YOU also lost ground.
From a wide barrier, ROYAL PARTNER was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Near the 1100 Metres, PERFECT FINISH was crowded for room between B CHOICE and ALL FRIENDS which got its head on the side and shifted in despite the efforts of its rider when racing ungenerously. In this incident, B CHOICE became unbalanced when bumped by PERFECT FINISH. Then approaching the 1000 Metres, B CHOICE was severely checked when crowded for room inside PERFECT FINISH which was taken in by ALL FRIENDS which continued to race ungenerously, got its head on the side and shifted in after initially being awkwardly placed close to the heels of ENSEMBLE (O Doleuze) which shifted in when not quite clear. O Doleuze was advised that whilst ALL FRIENDS’ racing manners had played a significant part in this incident, nonetheless he must ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances. RAINBOW FIGHTER, which was following, was checked away from the heels of B CHOICE in consequence. The racing manners of ALL FRIENDS was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ALL FRIENDS will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial around a bend.
Also approaching the 1000 Metres, SUPREME FALCON was crowded for room between ALL FRIENDS which shifted out marginally when being corrected after causing interference to its inside and HONEY KING PRAWN (Y T Cheng) which shifted in when racing inside JAZZY FEELING. Y T Cheng was advised that whilst there were some circumstances associated with this incident, nonetheless he was severely reprimanded and told to ensure that he makes every effort to prevent his mount from shifting ground in similar circumstances.
RAINBOW FIGHTER and ALL FRIENDS had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.
Over the final 100 Metres, PROLIFIC CHAMPION and ROYAL PARTNER raced tight as ROYAL PARTNER improved into running between that horse and ALL FRIENDS.
When questioned regarding JAZZY FEELING being ridden in a forward position, R Fourie stated that it was anticipated that PROLIFIC CHAMPION would be ridden along to his outside to take up a forward position and he should shift across with that horse and obtain a position in front of midfield with cover if possible. He said JAZZY FEELING was able to obtain a forward position without having to be made use of, however, when PROLIFIC CHAMPION did not continue forward in the early stages, his mount was left racing three wide and without cover.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that SUPREME FALCON was lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, SUPREME FALCON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
B CHOICE, PERFECT FINISH and JAZZY FEELING were sent for sampling.
