Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
14 STORMY GROVE (K478) Bumped shortly after the start. Sent for sampling post-race.
4 INVINCIBLE IBIS (K296) Near the 1600 Metres, when racing keenly, shifted out and made contact with SAGACIOUS LIFE. Sent for sampling post-race.
7 PATCH OF COSMO (J357) Jumped awkwardly and then made contact with STORMY GROVE.
2 NUMBERS (L080) When questioned K C Leung stated that his instructions were to lead. He said in the early stages along the Back Straight he remained wide and allowed his mount time to move forward and to race in the lead. He said after improving to the outside of AKASHVANI near the 1000 Metres, when that runner did not show the intent to hold the lead, he elected to allow NUMBERS to stride forward to cross AKASHVANI and lead as instructed. When questioned regarding his riding from the 800 Metres and if there was an opportunity to set a slower pace K C Leung stated that as NUMBERS is a big striding horse and one-paced he was satisfied that the horse was racing in a comfortable rhythm and as a result he elected to allow it to continue to stride forward without restraining his mount as he felt it would provide it with the best opportunity to obtain the best possible placing in the race.
11 DAZZLING FIT (K298) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
13 POPE CODY (K313) In the middle stages raced keenly.
6 BEAUTY BOLT (K491) Jumped awkwardly.
1 LITTLE PARADISE (K246) Approaching the 350 Metres shifted out to improve to the outside of PATCH OF COSMO and as a result made contact with INFINITE RESOLVE. C Y Ho reported that his mount was fractious in the starting gates which necessitated him calling to the Starter to delay the start. He said when the start was effected LITTLE PARADISE was standing awkwardly and as a result jumped awkwardly and lost ground at the start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
5 INFINITE RESOLVE (K369) Bumped near the 350 Metres. Trainer M Newnham confirmed that from the outside barrier he instructed A Badel to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.
10 WINDLORD (L184) No report.
8 AKASHVANI (K234) No report.
9 CIRCUIT GRAND SLAM (K201) No report.
12 LUCKY SAM GOR (K114) Shifted in on jumping and was bumped. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
3 SAGACIOUS LIFE (K507) Jumped awkwardly and then made contact with LUCKY SAM GOR which shifted in. Bumped near the 1600 Metres. For some distance in the early stages raced tight to the inside of LUCKY SAM GOR (C L Chau) which shifted in. C L Chau was advised to exercise more care. Z Purton stated that after being crowded in the early stages his mount raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages and would not settle. He added as he commenced to improve into the race near the 200 Metres he was obliged to check his mount when disappointed for clear running to the inside of LUCKY SAM GOR (C L Chau) when that runner shifted in slightly. He said after this incident SAGACIOUS LIFE was unable to finish the race off. C L Chau was advised to exercise more care. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
