Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
4 HOT DELIGHT (K583) Shifted in slightly shortly after the start and was bumped. Sent for sampling post-race.
1 PAKISTAN LEGACY (J363) Sent for sampling post-race.
5 STAR RISE (K516) When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight A Atzeni stated that he was instructed to hold his mount up in the early stages of the Home Straight as STAR RISE possesses a short sprint. He said after following the favourite and the winner into the race he was content to remain racing behind that runner having regard to his instructions and also HOT DELIGHT was providing him with cover to continue to improve. He added that after shifting to the outside of HOT DELIGHT approaching the 250 Metres STAR RISE lay in as it was placed under pressure. Trainer D J Hall confirmed the instructions and the reasons as to why he issued those instructions. The Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Atzeni were reasonable in the circumstances.
3 COOL BOY (L014) In the middle stages raced keenly. Z Purton stated that after being placed into the starting gates his mount became fractious. He said as a consequence COOL BOY was slow to begin which resulted in him settling towards the back of the field. He added that in the Home Straight COOL BOY finished the race off well when placed under pressure.
6 EXCEED THE LIMIT (L267) Shortly after the start was hampered when bumped by HOT DELIGHT which shifted in slightly. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
10 MATZDEN (L133) Jumped awkwardly. In the early stages raced keenly and got its head up for some distance near the 900 Metres.
2 MICKLEY (K082) D B McMonagle stated that after settling back in the field his mount found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, MICKLEY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
7 WONDERSTAR (J531) No report.
8 JUMBO STEPS (L269) No report.
9 CHEAHA (K567) No report.
