Racing Incident Report

1 7 CALIFORNIA STAR (J123) Slow to begin. Making the Home Turn raced ungenerously when being shifted out to secure clear running. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 4 HAPPY UNIVERSE (J533) Jumped only fairly, shifted in and made contact with ARIEL. Lay in in the Home Straight and proved difficult to ride out. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 12 FIREFOOT (J183) Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event. C Y Ho reported that the intention was to hold a more forward position but after shifting out on jumping and making contact with SUPERB GUY his mount did not show sufficient pace to go forward.
4 9 BULL ATTITUDE (K305) No report.
5 14 FOREMOST TEDDY (J058) No report.
6 2 NEVER PETER OUT (J200) No report.
7 10 LESLIE (E471) Slow to begin.
8 8 SWAGGER BRO (K089) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 11 NIGHT PUROSANGUE (J510) Near the 300 Metres lay in and away from SWAGGER BRO and was steadied to avoid CALIFORNIA STAR. Near the 100 Metres was again steadied to avoid BULL ATTITUDE (A Badel) which shifted to the outside of CALIFORNIA STAR to improve. A Badel was advised to exercise more care.
10 13 SUPERB GUY (K323) Jumped only fairly and then was hampered when bumped by FIREFOOT which shifted out. M Chadwick reported that from a wide barrier he was instructed to obtain cover on the horse. Trainer K W Lui confirmed the instructions issued.
11 1 ARIEL (G223) Bumped on jumping. Raced wide and without cover until near the 900 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 3 SIGHT DREAMER (J542) A Atzeni stated that his mount led the event as expected. He said when he asked for an effort in the Home Straight the horse failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SIGHT DREAMER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.
13 5 FASHION LEGEND (J080) Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
14 6 RISING ELITE (K544) Slow to begin. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
