When questioned rider stated that from the outside barrier he was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages. He said his mount lay out throughout the race and in the Home Straight when placed under pressure continued to lay out. He added whilst his preference was to improve to the inside of a runner near the 150M, as his mount was laying out, he elected to allow it to continue to shift out to the outside of that runner rather than fight the horse which resulted in his mount not being able to be ridden out to the finish when positioned close to another runner - Race 387.
