Racing Incident Report
On arrival at he Start, blood was noted in the mouth of PERFECT SPRINT. PERFECT SPRINT was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. MASARYK began awkwardly and then for some distance after the start was unbalanced when buffeted for room between WIND DAMPER and SUPERIOR UNIT. GLOBAL WIN was slow to begin. Making the first turn, LUCKY PRINCE and FAST INTENTIONS bumped as a result of FREE AND EASY being taken out by WIND DAMPER which made the turn awkwardly. Passing the 400 Metres, WIND DAMPER got its head on the side, shifted in and bumped DESTINY`S CHILD. WIND DAMPER then continued to lay in for some distance after this. Over the concluding stages, LUCKY PRINCE was steadied away from the heels of NEW KING PRAWN which shifted out. Throughout the race, FAST INTENTIONS, LUCKY PRINCE and MY MEMORY travelled wide. When questioned, B Prebble stated that PERFECT SPRINT blundered passing the 1000 Metres as it was not handling the track conditions. He said as there were a number of horses spread across the track making the first turn, he attempted to shift his mount closer to the fence in an endeavour to avoid the kickback. He said PERFECT SPRINT continued to dip in the going and was not comfortable at any stage of the race. He said at the entrance to the Straight he balanced PERFECT SPRINT and shifted the horse out in an endeavour to find better going, however, PERFECT SPRINT continued to be uncomfortable in the going and whilst it finished off the race fairly, it did not handle today`s track surface at any stage. PERFECT SPRINT, SEEK N` DESTROY and FREE AND EASY were sent for sampling.
