Racing Incident Report
HAPPY BAO BEI was withdrawn on 10.6.17 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY BAO BEI will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
HO HO HORSE was slow to begin.
HINYUEN SWIFTNESS began only fairly.
From a wide barrier, MASTER ALBERT was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Making the first turn after the 900 Metres, MALMSTEEN shifted out away from the heels of SUPER JUNIOR and bumped LUCKY WAN FENG, causing both horses to become unbalanced. After this, MALMSTEEN got its head up when travelling keenly and awkwardly placed behind SUPER JUNIOR.
Passing the 700 Metres, LUCKY WAN FENG was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PERPETUAL JOYANCE.
After the 700 Metres, DOUBLE VALENTINE was left racing wide and without cover.
Near the 550 Metres, MALMSTEEN again got its head up when travelling close to the heels of SUPER JUNIOR.
Approaching the 500 Metres, LUCKY WAN FENG was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PERPETUAL JOYANCE. MASTER ALBERT, which was following, was shifted out away from the heels of LUCKY WAN FENG in consequence.
At the entrance to the Straight, SUPER JUNIOR and PERPETUAL JOYANCE raced tight as SUPER JUNIOR attempted to shift to the outside of SUNSHINE UNIVERSE to obtain clear running. SUPER JUNIOR was then directed to the inside of SUNSHINE UNIVERSE when unable to improve to that horse’s outside passing the 400 Metres.
Passing the 400 Metres, MASTER ALBERT shifted out and bumped HINYUEN SWIFTNESS.
Throughout the race, CHARITY GLORY travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight hung in under pressure and proved difficult to ride.
A veterinary inspection of CHARITY GLORY immediately following the race confirmed the horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
MASTER ALBERT, PERPETUAL JOYANCE and FANTASTIC EIGHT were sent for sampling.
