1 5 HELIOS EXPRESS (H302) H Bowman was found guilty of a careless riding charge for causing interference approaching the 250 Metres (see BEAUTY LIVE). Sent for sampling post-race.
2 9 SPIRITED EXPRESS (G356) Jumped only fairly. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 11 THE BEST PEACH (H139) From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
4 10 MR ASCENDENCY (G227) Raced keenly in the early stages.
5 12 ALACRITY (H210) No report.
6 1 SUPER SUNNY SING (G319) Jumped awkwardly. Near the 900 Metres, when being steadied to obtain cover behind BEAUTY LIVE, was steadied away from the heels of that runner.
7 3 FLAMING RABBIT (H257) No report.
8 7 DANCING CODE (G365) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Leaving the 300 Metres was steadied when crowded between BOURBONAIRE and SPIRITED EXPRESS which shifted out slightly. Then did not obtain clear running until the 200 Metres.
9 2 THE GOLDEN SCENERY (E379) Near the 1200 Metres when the pace steadied HELIOS EXPRESS (H Bowman) was shifted in to obtain cover behind BOURBONAIRE, resulting in THE GOLDEN SCENERY, which had commenced to race keenly, being steadied to avoid HELIOS EXPRESS. H Bowman was advised to exercise more care. From the 400 Metres until the 250 Metres was held up for clear running. Near the 150 Metres was disappointed for a run to the inside of SUPER SUNNY SING (C Y Ho) when that runner shifted in. In this incident, THE GOLDEN SCENERY blundered. C Y Ho will be asked to exercise more care. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 13 BEAUTY LIVE (G057) H Bowman (HELIOS EXPRESS) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 250 Metres he allowed his mount to shift to the outside of FLAMING RABBIT when insufficiently clear of BEAUTY LIVE, resulting in BEAUTY LIVE being awkwardly placed on the heels of HELIOS EXPRESS and having to be steadied to avoid the heels of HELIOS EXPRESS. H Bowman was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 17 January 2024 at Happy Valley. In addition, Jockey Bowman was fined $55,000. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 1 and also considered his neutral race riding record. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
11 8 FIND MY LOVE (H110) Jumped awkwardly.
12 6 BOURBONAIRE (E365) Leaving the 1300 Metres commenced to race keenly when being steadied away from FLAMING RABBIT after FLAMING RABBIT was steadied to take up a position outside ALL FOR ST PAUL’S. Near the 300 Metres was steadied when crowded between BEAUTY LIVE and HELIOS EXPRESS (H Bowman) which shifted out when not clear. H Bowman was reprimanded.
13 4 ALL FOR ST PAUL'S (C517) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
