4 1 JOYFUL PROSPERITY (H213) H Bowman Approaching the 500 Metres was momentarily crowded by KYRUS UNICORN which lay in before being corrected by its rider. When questioned, H Bowman stated that approaching the finish of the event he became unbalanced in the saddle as he was pushing his mount out. He said as a result he was unable to fully test JOYFUL PROSPERITY to the finish of the event. Whilst the Stewards recognized the explanation that H Bowman had provided, he was advised, wherever possible, he should fully test his mounts to the finish of the event. When questioned regarding the performance, H Bowman reported that his mount travelled reasonably well during the event. He added that near the 500 Metres after being crowded by KYRUS UNICORN, his mount lost momentum and then took some time to respond to his riding in the Home Straight before finishing the race off only fairly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

10 5 SUPER EAGLE (G408) K Teetan No report.
2 6 SPEEDY CHARIOT (H193) B Avdulla Making the first turn near the 1000 Metres was steadied when crowded by SKY SONG which was taken in by WOODFIRE CHAMP (M L Yeung) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. M L Yeung was reprimanded. In assessing the incident, the Stewards also found that SPEEDY CHARIOT had lay out during the incident and contributed to the interference. M L Yeung pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 900 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of SKY SONG, taking SKY SONG in across the running of SPEEDY CHARIOT which was checked. M L Yeung was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 16 October 2024 at Happy Valley. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record. Sent for sampling post-race.
5 7 GALLANT GOODY (H434) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly and then was crowded between CHEER FOR SOUTH and DAN ATTACK, both of which shifted ground. Making the Home Turn raced tight to the inside of SPEEDY CHARIOT as it endeavoured to improve into a narrow run to that runner’s inside.
8 8 BEAU GOSSE (G389) C L Chau (-2) Bumped shortly after the start. After travelling a short distance was steadied when crowded between SKY SONG and HERO WARRIOR, both of which shifted ground slightly. BEAU GOSSE then over-raced in the early and middle stages and for some distance after the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid DAN ATTACK. After the event, C L Chau stated that his mount finished the race off in a one-paced manner and would appreciate being stepped up in distance for its next race start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 9 WOODFIRE CHAMP (H292) M L Yeung M L Yeung pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 900 Metres (see SPEEDY CHARIOT). After the event, M L Yeung stated that he was not instructed to lead, but after commencing well and when caught wide in the early stages, he elected to allow WOODFIRE CHAMP to stride forward and lead the event.
11 10 ALLOY KING (D287) H Bentley After the event, H Bentley reported that his intention was to hold a more forward position, but ALLOY KING failed to show sufficient pace to do so and as a result settled further back than intended. 11 1 MULTISUPER (G416) L Hewitson Sustained an abrasion to the right hock whilst being transported to the course, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. As the start was effected lowered its head and lost ground. Before being allowed to race again, MULTISUPER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. A warning was also placed on the barrier manners of the horse. After the event, L Hewitson reported that his mount was disadvantaged by being slow to begin and, in his opinion, is better suited around the Sha Tin circuit. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 2 AEROINVINCIBLE (J180) Z Purton On straightening near the 300 Metres was bumped by JOY COMING which shifted out. After the 150 Metres raced tight between JOY COMING and TALENTS SUPREMO which shifted in slightly. After the 100 Metres, AEROINVINCIBLE again raced in restricted room between JOY COMING and EMBRACES which shifted in and away from DENFIELD. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event and raced keenly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
2 DH 3 DENFIELD (G471) H Bowman Shortly after the start was steadied away from JOY COMING. DENFIELD was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Sent for sampling post-race.

C Y Ho was advised to exercise more care. When questioned, C L Chau stated that from an inside barrier his instructions were to endeavour to hold a more forward position. He said after riding his mount along to comply with his instructions, EMBRACES did not appreciate racing amongst horses. He added in the Home Straight his mount lay in and for some distance after the 250 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned behind AEROINVINCIBLE. He said after shifting to the outside of AEROINVINCIBLE passing the 200 Metres his mount raced in restricted room to the inside of DENFIELD for some distance thereafter. Sent for sampling post-race.
8 7 SIGHT HAPPY (J261) A Badel A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 8 DOUBLE BINGO (J309) B Avdulla Crowded on jumping. When questioned, B Avdulla stated that his mount raced ungenerously throughout the event. He said making the Home Turn DOUBLE BINGO hung out and became awkwardly placed close to the heels of EVER SMART when DENFIELD shifted to the outside of FAIRY HORSE to improve.
4 9 EVER SMART (J179) H Bentley Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between DOUBLE BINGO and NEBRASKAN which shifted out slightly before being corrected by its rider.
2 DH 10 TALENTS SUPREMO (H133) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.

1 12 COLONEL (D090) M Chadwick When questioned regarding the improved performance, Trainer M Newnham stated that at its first up run at Happy Valley on 11 September 2024, COLONEL was disadvantaged by having to be ridden along in the early stages to obtain the lead. He said tonight from a more favourable barrier COLONEL was able to find the front without having to be ridden along in the early stages to do so and as a result finished the race off much stronger. Sent for sampling post-race.

8 1 SMART CITY (J213) K C Leung Jumped only fairly and then was crowded between BEAUTIFUL WIN and SNOWALOT which shifted out despite the efforts of its rider. Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres was hampered when taken out by CAN’T GO WONG. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
7 2 SNOWALOT (E397) L Hewitson Bumped after the 300 Metres. Lay out in the Home Straight. Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when racing tight between CAN’T GO WONG and ATOMIC BEAUTY which was taken out by SUPER BABY. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
1 3 WINNING STEPS (G420) K Teetan From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Sent for sampling post-race.
10 4 TURIN WARRIOR (G150) H Bowman After the 300 Metres was bumped by SNOWALOT which shifted out to improve. After the event, H Bowman stated that he had intended on taking up a midfield position. He said in the early stages when SUPER BABY went forward, he elected to follow that runner across which resulted in TURIN WARRIOR taking up a more forward position than anticipated. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
5 5 ATOMIC BEAUTY (H066) B Avdulla No report.
6 6 CAN'T GO WONG (H087) A Badel After travelling a short distance was steadied when crowded between SUPER BABY and BEAUTIFUL WIN. When questioned, A Badel stated that his instructions were to take up a handy position but after being crowded at the start settled further back than intended. He said entering the Back Straight when PRINCE ALEX made a forward move, his intention was to follow that runner into the race, however, when PRINCE ALEX showed superior pace, he was unable to follow that runner and as a result remained racing to the outside of SMART CITY. He said when caught wide in the Back Straight he then elected to follow SMART CITY to avoid racing wide and without cover. When questioned regarding his decision to shift to the inside of SMART CITY after the 500 Metres, A Badel stated that with the rail in the "C” position, he thought it would be advantageous to save ground on the Home Turn and when he felt TURIN WARRIOR would take him into the race, he elected to shift in and follow that runner. He said when TURIN WARRIOR did not improve into the event as expected, CAN’T GO WONG then had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the Home Straight between TURIN WARRIOR and SMART CITY and as a result made contact with SMART CITY for some distance. He added after obtaining clear running approaching the 150 Metres CAN’T GO WONG finished the race off reasonably well. After considering his explanations, whilst the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Badel were reasonable, he was advised, in the opinion of the Stewards, his better option would have been to continue a run to the outside of SMART CITY which would have provided his mount with clear and uninterrupted running in the Home Straight.
9 7 BEAUTIFUL WIN (J250) C Y Ho Crowded shortly after the start.
3 8 FOREMOST TEDDY (J058) Z Purton The Stewards deferred the declaration of weighed-in to ascertain if there were sufficient grounds for a protest/objection on behalf of FOREMOST TEDDY being declared the 3rd placegetter due to PRINCE ALEX shifting out and making contact with that runner over the concluding stages. After viewing the videos and when no protest/objection was lodged by the rider or connections of FOREMOST TEDDY, the Stewards were satisfied that there were not sufficient grounds to proceed with the protest/objection and therefore weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge. Sent for sampling post-race.
4 10 SUPER BABY (G364) L Ferraris No report.
2 11 PRINCE ALEX (G307) H Bentley Approaching the 900 Metres when the pace of the event was being run outside of standard time PRINCE ALEX improved forward to take up the lead near the 750 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.

He said whilst MATSU VICTOR travelled comfortably throughout the event, it failed to respond strongly to his riding in the Home Straight. He added, in his opinion, MATSU VICTOR may be better suited by being ridden in a more conservative manner in the early stages to allow it to finish the race off.
