Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the Start, it was noted TRULY CONTENT had its tongue over the bit. This was corrected prior to the horse being loaded. CITI CENTRE was slow to begin and was bumped by BIEN BIEN HEART which on jumping became unbalanced and shifted in. In the early stages, TRULY CONTENT proved very difficult to settle and on a number of occasions got its head up, then passing the winning post on the first occasion lost its position when momentarily crowded between ENERGETIC PRINCE and EVER GLORY. In the circumstances, no action was taken. At the 600 Metres, BRILLIANT PALACE was steadied when disappointed for running inside JUST IN TIME. At the 400 Metres, ROMANTIC VENTURE was bumped by ENERGETIC PRINCE which was endeavouring to shift to the outside of SMART WIN to go forward. In the early part of the Straight, EL VIENTO was held up and unable to obtain clear running between EVER GLORY which was giving ground and ME AND YOU and then in the run to the winning post EL VIENTO shifted out. Also in the run to the winning post, ME AND YOU shifted out and after the 100 Metres brushed SMART WIN. TRULY CONTENT was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, it was noted TRULY CONTENT was making a slight breathing noise. An endoscopic examination was carried out. This showed the horse to be an early "roarer". EL VIENTO and ME AND YOU were sent for sampling. Also after the race, it was noted ME AND YOU had sustained a cut to the left hind cannon.
