Racing Incident Report
DEEP PURPLE was slow to begin. On jumping, GOOD FIT, which had drawn a wide barrier, was immediately steadied and shifted across behind runners to a position on the rail. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, CUPID and BLACK KNIGHT were momentarily crowded for room by CLAWS OF THUNDER which got its head on the side and shifted in. Near the 1700 Metres, CUPID and BLACK KNIGHT were again crowded for room by CLAWS OF THUNDER which shifted in when not quite clear. Near the 800 Metres, HIGH SKY and XLERATE bumped on several occasions due mainly to HIGH SKY endeavouring to shift out from behind CUPID. For some distance after the 200 Metres, HIGH SPIRITS was awkwardly placed inside the heels of THE PIONEER which was giving ground. CUPID was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. After the race, CUPID was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No significant findings were made. XLERATE and CLAWS OF THUNDER were sent for sampling.
