Racing Incident Report

SUPREME MOLLY, which was standing awkwardly, was steadied shortly after the start when crowded for room between DANHERO and OKEYDOKEY. In the early stages, FORTE hung in, making the turn at the 600 Metres until after straightening hung out and then in the Home Straight again hung in. After the race, A Delpech (FORTE) reported his saddle shifted back shortly after the start. Shortly after straightening, HEALTHY FRUITS was bumped by SUPER WIN FORTUNE which got its head on the side and shifted in. Near the 100 Metres, SUPREME MOLLY was steadied and shifted in away from the heels of GRASS HOPPER which was giving ground. B Prebble (DANHERO) explained rounding the Home Turn he commenced to ride his mount along and shortly after straightening he pulled the whip. He said DANHERO made only moderate headway in the early part of the Straight, then inside the final 200 Metres commenced to close the race off strongly, however, over about the last 100 Metres he was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MANIFEST and outside GRASS HOPPER which was on his inside and giving ground. He said because of this he was unable to fully test DANHERO. D Dunn (GRASS HOPPER) said the speed of today's race meant GRASS HOPPER was obliged to be ridden under greater pressure. He said his mount travelled comfortably behind the speed and he shifted into clear running on straightening hoping that the leaders would not go on. He said however when MANIFEST improved on his outside, GRASS HOPPER got its head up, did not stride out and as a consequence gave ground over the concluding stages. GRASS HOPPER was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of GRASS HOPPER after the race did not show any significant findings. BILLET EXPRESS and OKEYDOKEY were sent for sampling.
