Racing Incident Report

SPEED OF LIGHT was slow to begin. ENERGETIC PRINCE was slow to begin, then shortly afterwards was checked when crowded for room between CHEVAL D'OR which was carried out slightly by SUPER BEST and NAOMERIC TE SPECSO which shifted in after bumping with BEEP BEEP. Shortly after the start, AMOUR was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of ELVIS. At the 1000 Metres, BEEP BEEP was unable to maintain its position between BURST TO VICTORY and WINMARK which shifted in when momentarily crowded by AMOUR. After the 1000 Metres, BURST TO VICTORY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ELVIS. Approaching the 200 Metres, AMOUR was carried wider by ELVIS which got its head on the side and was hanging out. In the Straight, SPARKLE when being ridden out drifted out and finished wide on the course. BEEP BEEP was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, BEEP BEEP was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said there were no significant findings. NAOMERIC TE SPECSO, ALBELA and SPEED OF LIGHT were sent for sampling. Following the race, G Mossé, the rider of BABY KING, reported the horse was making an abnormal breathing noise. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said an endoscopic examination did not show any significant findings.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 24 May 2004)
BEEP BEEP, which performed poorly, was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. BEEP BEEP was again examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison at the stables of Trainer I W Allan yesterday morning. He said at this time the horse was found to be lame in the left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, BEEP BEEP will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
