Racing Incident Report
After being boxed, PACIFIC ALLIANCE became fractious, reared and momentarily had its right front leg caught over the front gates of its stall. The horse was removed from the barrier and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. LUCKY HANDS began awkwardly and lost ground at the start. DASH AHEAD was a little slow to begin and shortly afterwards was checked when crowded for room between UNIVERSAL CHARGER and CORNWALL CHIEFS which shifted out abruptly. On jumping, TRAVEL LEADER bounded in the air, then knuckled. Near the 1800 Metres, SPRINTER was steadied to avoid the heels of KA KA WIN after being carried in by SEASONS KNACK which at this time was racing tight inside TRAVEL LEADER which made ground to be racing inside CORNWALL CHIEFS (A Delpech) which at this time shifted in slightly. As A Delpech immediately straightened his mount, no action was taken. Near the 600 Metres, GOOD HEART was steadied when awkwardly placed between SPRINTER and DASH AHEAD. Prior to straightening, GOOD HEART was steadied and shifted to the inside of SPRINTER to obtain clear running. After the 400 Metres, TRAVEL LEADER got its head on the side, shifted in and made contact with GREEN IN BLUE. Approaching the 200 Metres, SEASONS KNACK, which was giving ground, was steadied when crowded for room between CORNWALL CHIEFS and SUPER IDEAL which when improving outside the heels of TRAVEL LEADER was carried out slightly by that horse. No action was taken. Over the concluding stages, SUPER IDEAL hung in. DASH AHEAD was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of DASH AHEAD after the race did not show any significant findings. SPRINTER and CORNWALL CHIEFS were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported that SUPER IDEAL had sustained a laceration to the right fore cannon.
