Racing Incident Report
As the gates opened, FIRST AMONG EQUALS bounded in the air and lost ground. SUPER IDEAL, with the intention of being ridden back in the field today from the outside gate, began awkwardly. JUST A MARTIAN and KAISER'S PRIZE were slow to begin. Because of the pace of the race, FIRST AMONG EQUALS, REAL PARTNER and DENDRANTHEMA LOVE proved difficult to settle in the early stages. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, REAL PARTNER was steadied away from the heels of SPRINTER which was awkwardly placed inside the heels of GALLANT FALCON. Near the 700 Metres, DENDRANTHEMA LOVE was steadied when awkwardly placed between DASHING THUNDER and REAL PARTNER. Near the 300 Metres, REAL PARTNER was steadied to avoid the heels of SPRINTER which shifted out when not properly clear. At the 200 Metres, JUST A MARTIAN was shifted to the outside of KAISER'S PRIZE to go forward. For some distance after the 200 Metres, REAL PARTNER was unable to obtain clear running between SPRINTER and SUPER IDEAL. Over the concluding stages, LUCKY LAD was not able to be ridden out when crowded for room inside PEARL OF INDIA. G Schofield (DANEHILL WARRIOR) said because of the slow tempo of the early stages the final section was run at quick speed. He said because of this after straightening DANEHILL WARRIOR was unable to quicken sufficiently to take a run outside GALLANT FALCON and inside SPRINTER which had improved on his inside. He said after this DANEHILL WARRIOR kept on without quickening. FIRST AMONG EQUALS, DASHING THUNDER and GALLANT FALCON were sent for sampling.
